Color processed by assigning hydrogen to red, doubly ionized oxygen to blue. A virtual green/yellow channel was created by blending the Ha and OIII channels.

NGC 896 is a region of faint hydrogen alpha emission that is situated in the northwestern corner of the Heart Nebula (IC1805). NGC 896 is a particularly rich area of ionized HII and dark molecular clouds.
