NGC 7479 is believd to have undergone a recent merger based on the direction of the spiral arms. Radio emissions reveal that the arms open in a direction opposite to what is seen through optical instruments. This galaxy is also undergoing starburst activity in the nucleus and outer arms (Source: Wikipedia).

Note the meteor trace in this image. The image was captured during the night of the Orionid meteor shower.
