Conditions: temps in the 60's; calm; very good seeing

Telescope: DSI RC10c, 1867mm at f/7.3

Camera: ST-10XME; CFW10; Astrodon L RGB Gen II filters

Notes:

Exposures: 90 minutes of lum and 40 minutes each RGB (10 min subexposures) for total of 3.5 hours

Known as the Iris nebula because it resembles the familiar flower, NGC7023 is actually the open star cluster at the center of the nebula. LBN 487 is the designation of the reflection nebula. The bright reflection nebula is lit by the mag 7.4 star SAO 19158. Its blue color is characteristic of dust and grains reflecting starlight.
