November 16th and 17th, 2015; Carlsbad, CA

Conditions: excellent seeing; 47 degrees; calm

Equipment:

Telescope: TEC 140 Refractor; 980mm at f/7

Mount: Losmandy G-11 with Gemini
Camera: ST-10XME; CFW10; Hutech OAG5 guider

Astrodon 3 nm narrowband filter

Notes:

Exposures: 3 hrs 40 min of Ha (in 20 minute subs); 30 minutes each of RGB (10 min subs) for total of 5 hrs 10 min

Lynd's Dark Nebula 1622 is a molecular cloud silhouetted against a faint background of glowing hydrogen gas in the constellation of Orion. The silhouette has the ghostly appearance of a "boogie man", hence its popular name.
